Thank
you for considering Bliss Creek Outfitters for your Wilderness
hunting adventure. Please
see our list of recommended equipment for each trip.
Everything is furnished with the hunt with the exception
of meat
processing, taxidermy and personal gear. We recommend
you bring personal gear as listed at the bottom of this
page.
Saddlebags and Rifle Scabbards are provided. Under Wyoming law,
all Big Game hunters hunting in a firearm season are required
to wear one fluorescent orange garment. We recommend a fluorescent
hat.
All
gear must be packed on mules and horses for your trip into camp.
Bring only what you need. Army size duffle-bags filled 3/4 full
work the best. Please limit your gear to 60lbs., not including
your rifle or bow. It is easier for us to pack serveral small bags
instead of one large bag on the mules.
We recommend rifles in the 30.06 to 300 mag clas with a 4 power
or better scope. We have found the bolt action rifles with 180
grain for Elk, Moose and Bear are just right.
Bows should
have a draw weight of at least 60lbs. Broadheads should
be at least 1" in diameter with 3 or more blades.
The weapon you choose for your hunt is a personal choice, however,
we cannot stress enough to practice, practice, practice. Every
year we see a lot of game missed because hunters are not familiar
with their rifle or bow. The hunt is not a good time to find
out you cannot shoot accurately.
