Summer in Wyoming Wilderness
CR Horseback Adventures offers a Deluxe All-Inclusive Camping experience in the Washakie Wilderness of the Shoshone National Forest, the largest National Forest in the United States. We ride the same trails that Jeremiah Johnson, world famous mountain man who is buried in Cody, WY, John Colter, mountain man and meat hunter for the Lewis and Clark Expedition, Jack Bliss, notorious horse thief and outlaw, Johnny Luster was known for Cave Creek and hiding stolen horses in a cave in Cave Creek, and the Shoshone Indian Tribes rode some 100 years ago.
Our camp is progressive, which means we can stay in one spot or move daily, as long as there are plentiful amounts of horse feed where we go. The trek requires a 2 to 8-hour Horse or Mule ride. Once in camp, the vacation is yours to plan. Your group can do things together every day or split up and do a multitude of things on your trip. You can go fishing, hiking, sightseeing, sit by the campfire at night and much more.
We will be hauling in Springbar and range tents, which are quick and easy to set up. We will provide air mattresses to add extra cushion to the ground, so a restful night is had. We will set up a privy site. After a fun filled day, we gather around the fire. Stories are told about the areas we will be in, fishing stories, many yarns are being spun and many falling stars being counted on those incredibly clear nights.
